Gü Chocolate Extremist Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. This promotion is only open to UK and Republic of Ireland residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Gü and their immediate families, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  2. Note that any deviation from these Terms and Conditions may render your submission to the competition void.
  3. No purchase necessary
  4. To enter: select your photos , videos or text entry on the subject of your chocolate extremism and then submit them at www.gupuds.com. The closing date for submissions is midnight on 26th August 2008.
  5. All entrants must warrant that works submitted are their own work and free of any third party copyright.
  6. In submitting to the competition, entrants agree to grant to Gü a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish and otherwise use the submitted material in any way that we want. Entrants will still own the copyright to everything they contribute.
  7. Those submitting material must also warrant that they have permission of anyone featured in the submission. Entrants submitting videos or pictures that feature other people are responsible for gaining their consent , free of any fee or any other usage restriction. If the images feature those under the age of 18, parental consent must also be obtained before submitting them.
  8. Photographs submitted must be maximum of 1MB, using one of the following supported formats: jpeg, gif, png
  9. Videos submitted must be maximum of 20MB, using one of the following supported formats: mpeg, avi, mov
  10. Text entries must be a maximum of 1,000 typed words.
  11. Any submissions that are deemed inappropriate will be disqualified. This includes images or texts that may be offensive, previously published, copyrighted (by somebody other than the entrant) or otherwise contrary to the spirit of the competition or any of the specific rules. Items submitted that identify an individual who has not given their consent to appear or those clearly featuring advertising or trademarks will also be liable to disqualification.
  12. Whilst we may try to notify entrants of the reasons why their materials have not been accepted, we cannot guarantee this in all cases.
  13. If material is identified as being inappropriate for any reason once it has been posted, Gü reserves the right to remove it from the competition, disqualifying the owner (for example if an image is accepted, but later identified as a copyrighted image from a film or magazine where the entrant was not the photographer or the copyright holder).
  14. All valid material will be posted onto the Gü Gallery pages, and visitors will be able to vote for their favourite. Only one vote per person per entry during the promotion is allowed and will be controlled via appropriate systems.
  15. After the closing date, the votes for each submission will be totalled and the entry with the most votes will be declared the winner of the £1000 cash prize and a years supply of Gü. The next 49 highest scoring entries will also win a years supply of Gü. This prize consists of 12 x £5 Gü/Frü product vouchers delivered to the winners home address, within a month of the closing date.
  16. No cash alternative is available and Gü reserves the right to change the prizes at any time.
  17. Winner will be displayed on the website at 12 noon on Monday 1st September 2008 and notified by post or email. Winners names and counties and images will be available on this website after this date for 4 weeks.
  18. Winners agree to participate in any reasonable publicity arranged by the Promoter or by its agencies.
  19. No responsibility will be accepted for lost, damaged, delayed or incorrectly completed entries or for computer hardware, software or network failures of any kind that restrict or delay entry.
  20. Entrants agree to be bound by all the entry instructions of which these terms and conditions form a part.
  21. These Terms & Conditions and this promotion are subject to English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  22. Any attempt by individuals or others to make multiple votes or otherwise attempt to manipulate the voting system will result in all such votes being disallowed.
